围绕国家海洋战略需求，立足南海珊瑚岛礁，主要开展珊瑚礁地貌与沉积方向的研究，包括：珊瑚岛礁地貌过程、演化模式及其与生物、动力和沉积的相互作用机制，珊瑚岛礁全新世地层结构、沉积环境演变与珊瑚礁发育模式，珊瑚岛礁对全球气候变化及区域环境变化的响应。

1999年12月毕业于兰州大学资源环境学院，获自然地理学博士学位

2000年7月-2003年12月：中科院南海所海洋地质室助理研究员

2004年1月-2013年12月：中科院南海所海洋地质室副研究员

2004年11月-2005年12月：德国波罗的海海洋研究所访问学者
